Plascon Values its Employees, and it Shows!
As a newer employee to Plascon, one might say I’m still in the honeymoon phase, experiencing the excitement and enthusiasm that comes with joining a company that truly values its employees. This feeling is not just a fleeting moment but is deeply rooted in the company culture, thanks to Plascon’s Workplace Happiness & Morale (WHAM) Committee and the Leadership Team's unwavering commitment to being an employer of choice. The company’s dedication to fostering a positive and supportive work environment is evident in every aspect of its operations, making it easy to understand why employees feel valued and motivated. Since starting my journey with Plascon, I have had the privilege of chairing the WHAM Committee, where I actively seek out fun and creative ways to build company morale. From organizing potlucks and holiday events that bring joy and laughter to planning activities and community outreach that foster a sense of belonging and purpose, our little committee can make a big difference in the lives of employees and neighbors alike!
Some of my favorite WHAM activities are those that support the community. We’ve participated in a local effort called Paper Angels, a program ensuring every foster child in the region has a proper Christmas, complete with gifts hand chosen from lists the children provide. The fundraiser has been an employee favorite for several years because who doesn’t love shopping for kids?!
What it Means to work for an Employer of Choice
Plascon’s vision of being an Employer of Choice also makes working for the company a privilege. Earning a paycheck is obviously important but Plascon understands we all have a choice and that to attract good talent, more is needed. By offering wellness reimbursement, generous time off, educational assistance and an employee recognition program, Plascon constantly looks for new ways to support its most important resource – its people.
Something must be working! Last Thanksgiving, when asked what he was most thankful for, a long-term employee said he was happy with his work-life balance. I might be new, but I had to agree with him. Let the honeymoon continue!
