Plascon Cook Chill bags for soups, chowders, stews and more

It's hygge time! Wait, what's hygge?

Everyone likes a little hygge time!

It’s officially autumn. Soon the leaves will start changing colors, the apple orchards will open for picking, and everything will be pumpkin-spice flavored. For the next six months or so there will be a lot of comfy, coziness going on. In Denmark, this concept is so ingrained in their culture that they even have a name for it. Hygge (pronounced hoo-ga) is defined as a quality of coziness and comfortable warmth that creates a feeling of contentment or well-being. Many Danes make sure to incorporate at least a little hygge on a daily basis, using it as chance to pause in the most comfortable ways possible. Warm blankets, fuzzy socks, and comfort food abound, this is the time of year where a large portion of the population hunkers down into a mini state of hibernation. It’s also the time of year where we tend to gather around the hearth and home with loved ones in several seasonal celebrations.

One of the most hygge things about autumn is the food. This is the time of year where menus switch from light, summery dishes to hot and hearty meals. Just about anything you can toss in a crock pot are colder weather hits, whether it’s at home or at your favorite restaurant. What is very un-hygge is spending day after day in the kitchen chopping, marinating, and seasoning. That’s why chilly weather is perfect chili weather (and roast, stew, and soup weather too!). Spending a day making all that yummy goodness in bulk and storing it in the freezer for quick meals later is perfect for this time of year, and we have the tools and accessories to help your business when it comes to prepping and storing meals that taste as fresh as the day they were made. Whether your restaurant is large or small, Plascon Cook Chill and Sous Vide vacuum bags offer a variety of bag options for just about anything you can cook up. With a variety of sizes, seals and uses, our team is sure to be able to help you find a way to bulk store your coziest of recipes. Contact us today for more information!
